Monday Coffee

It’s our favourite coffee day of the week and boy, do I have news to tell you!

Come in first and take a load off.  Coffee?  Tea?  Help yourself to our favourite triple chocolate cake.

Okay, now that we are settled, I can share the awesome news. The sign on our house has changed to SOLD!!  It’s slowly seeping in that we are on our way to changing our lives and hopefully taking one step closer to our dreams.  There’s not enough tea in this world to calm my nerves and whenever I open a cupboard door, I cringe at the sight of stuff we need to pack.

I have to quickly apologize to my lovely subscribers (if you haven’t subscribed to my newsletter…well…here’s the link…http://eepurl.com/bMz8R1).  I’m still working my magic on The Iron Pendulum.  Editing the darn book has taken all week and I’m still not happy.  Once it is perfect, I will send it out to my winners.  Let’s hope it’s worth the wait.

We went to our local butcher over the weekend and I was eye-balling his lovely meat hooks! (No, I’m not crazy.  I’m looking for a cover pic for The Iron Pendulum.)  He noticed my fascination and I explained that I was an author looking for a pic.  I was pleasantly surprised when he interrupted me and told me that I wasn’t the first author to ask him for a pic.  Apparently Kenneth Branagh had passed through before and asked for a pig’s head, sliced through the middle!  How cool was that?  The butcher offered to set up the shot anytime I was ready and only requested signed copies of my book for himself and his staff as payment!  Again, how cool is that?  I literally skipped out of the place, totally embarrassing my family.  So much for trying to look professional!

Have another slice of cake and tell me about your week.  Were you on holiday too?  Did you have a lovely break or did you have to work like me? Now I can’t complain because my work was at home, editing.  It’s not glamorous but very time consuming.  Luckily, my wonderful family have embraced the fact that I am serious about getting this book out as soon as possible and have helped out around the house.  I think I have consumed my weight in junk food, which is not always a bad thing.  Dog walking will burn it off soon enough!

This week is going to be very busy.  It’s back to work and organising somewhere for us to stay once the house sells.  Apparently landlords frown on four cats and a dog – or was it the four kids?  Never mind the odd parents!  Well, if you see me knocking on your door, please be kind and find a little corner for me to stay in, until I can find my plot of land.

Right, it’s time for us to fill our mugs and cut another slice of this delicious cake!
