It’s time for a mid-week Friday treat. Continue reading
It’s the mid-week treat. With snow descending on the UK, gloomy days and freezing temperatures are bringing optimism down. So, to brighten your day, here’s a song to keep you going. For those who watch The Walking Dead, you’ll get it!
Have a great day!
Here’s a little happy for your mid-week break.
Picture this: soft, grey clouds pouting in the sky, blotting out the blue. Does that make you feel miserable? Well, imagine a nice cup of something hot in your hand and a view of the forest, the park, a bustling street in the city – anything to brighten your dreary day. Imagine a huge hug wrapping you up in a warm, snuggly embrace and a whisper in your ear saying, “You are important to me!”
There. Hope your day is awesome and if you feel like reaching out, drop me a message. Sending you all hugs today.
PS. I’m linking you to my blogging pal Trent’s Weekly Smile. Send him a message on what makes you smile this week. Thanks.
It’s the middle of the week and I have a hunkering for a midweek treat. Our heatwave is causing a ruckus with eating habits and I’m burning more energy running around classrooms than I normally do. Not that I’m complaining – it’s nice to have warm hands for a change as I’m usually the poster girl for Frosty.
Warm rays are drying my slightly damp hair and the sounds of children playing interrupt the droning noise of traffic. My son is learning to play netball and has a knack for clap-catch. Still, the appeal of a sweet treat drowns out everything else.
Some exciting things will be developing over the next few weeks which will require more hard work and dedication. I love a challenge, especially when it involves motivating children to find their inner writing talents. NaNoWriMo is a go too which means I might not have time for my own challenge; it’s hard enough finding time to finish my books.
Right, enough chatter. I’m off to find some fudge, chocolate or hidden stash of nougat! Enjoy your Wensfriesday.
My apologies for my erratic posts on such an important day of the week. If you miss my #Wensfriesday commentary, jump over to Twitter and find me there. I usually post something fun to acknowledge of mid-week Friday break. My handle is @mello_elo.
Now my lovely daughter came home today and shared a fantastic YouTube video by Weird Al Yankovic (the same guy that made Michael Jackson’s, I’m Bad, cool!). Here it is…
Have an awesome day! 😀
What an awesome #Wensfriesday. It has fallen on the same day documented in the famous movie, Back To The Future.
My Hubble is crazy about the movies and he introduced them to me many years ago when Marty McFly’s clothing choice was still cool! Timeless action, drama and adventure made this a cult film with a hope to actually reach this auspicious day.
So grab your hover boards, fire up the modified DeLorean and let’s go back to the future!
Happy #Wensfriesday folks!
Now that the days are getting shorter, nights are donning their chilly suits and the autumn term has well and truly begun. We are back to searching for little pick-me-ups to carry us through the long weeks ahead. What better way than celebrating #Wensfriesday together?
For my #Wensfriesday treat today, I’m picking out a savoury snack. With a cheesy flavour and crispy, crumbly body, it snaps under mouth-watering bites expelling the delicious herbs, salts and peppers trapped within its mix.
What is my snack of choice? Can anyone guess?
A huge thanks to Serins for running a full week of fun and interaction over various media fronts. It’s been awesome and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being a part of it. So, whilst I nibble on my piece of Biltong, here’s a recap of the week from Serins. 😀
It has been a while since I’ve posted on my Wensfriesday post, but I just had to share my happiness and mid-week special.
I haven’t had a chance to enjoy a sweetie break – we did that the other night whilst watching a Star Wars marathon! Instead, my treat today was tackling a job I’ve been avoiding for good reason…the patio! The pallets have done their time and it was time to replace or remove them. Today was the day of reckoning.
Now I’m no wimp, but the size of spiders jumping out from cracks and crevices had me screaming and doing crazy dances in the garden. I was not the only one! The children screeched when one tried to run up my shoe! Eurgh! I’m still getting the shivers now. After moving over 36 slabs, 10 pallets and supporting bricks, the majority of the area has been cleared and a new set of steps laid out. Tomorrow I will finish the hellish corner that’s left and lay out the rest of the slabs over the cleared area.
Have you tackled any major jobs today that have been bugging you for a while? What was your mid-week treat?
Good-bye my pretty Bird,
Fly away free
Never mind the tears
They’re not for you, but for me.
Good-bye my golden friend
The one who drives me mad
Even now I smile at memories
That share my life with you, making me glad.
Good-bye our precious grandmother
The children loved you a tonne
I told them when I came home
You gave me the last touch
So the game continues on!
Good-bye my pretty little bird
Death has collected you at a young age
How peacefully you left us
To say farewell to your empty cage.
