Happy #Wensfriesday

I’ve put together some of my favourite treats for this week.  Promise I won’t eat them all!

What treat are you having this week?  If not a treat, maybe a song, sport or anything to make you smile!

Sometimes it’s the smallest things that make us happy.  My illustrator has shared a pic of Mr Barns from Cecil The Bully.  It made my week.  Since I love to share the happiness, I would like to share it with you. Let me know what you think of it.

Share a little love this mid-week break and makes someone’s day.

Big hugs to you all.  xxx

Happy #Wensfriesday

It has been a while since I’ve posted on my Wensfriesday post, but I just had to share my happiness and mid-week special.

I haven’t had a chance to enjoy a sweetie break – we did that the other night whilst watching a Star Wars marathon!  Instead, my treat today was tackling a job I’ve been avoiding for good reason…the patio!  The pallets have done their time and it was time to replace or remove them.  Today was the day of reckoning.

Now I’m no wimp, but the size of spiders jumping out from cracks and crevices had me screaming and doing crazy dances in the garden. I was not the only one! The children screeched when one tried to run up my shoe! Eurgh! I’m still getting the shivers now. After moving over 36 slabs, 10 pallets and supporting bricks, the majority of the area has been cleared and a new set of steps laid out.  Tomorrow I will finish the hellish corner that’s left and lay out the rest of the slabs over the cleared area.

My treat at the end of a hard day’s work was a lovely cup of Jasmine tea.  I guess I will have to celebrate a proper Wensfriesday tomorrow.

Have you tackled any major jobs today that have been bugging you for a while?  What was your mid-week treat?

Happy #Wensfriesday!

Smarties are on the menu,
m&M’s taste so good,
Pastries and cheesecake – delicious
Yes you know you should!

What’s the point of #Wensfriesday?
Well it’s the mid-week delight
Who said we can’t have two Friday’s
With weekends to make it just right!

Okay that’s my tired and terrible attempt at a #Wensfriesday poem. If you have something better, post it, link it to me and I shall give you the Wensfriesday shout out.

I’m calling it a night because I have World Book Day tomorrow and since I’m going as Mary Poppins, I have some flying to do.

Now where did I put my carpet bag and umbrella?

😉

Woohoo! #Wensfriesday!

Drinks for all today! I’ve completed my first day in my new role at work and it rocked. I love it and the job encompasses everything I enjoy – reading, literacy, encouraging children to enjoy reading and better themselves and progressing the school to the best of its ability.

Anyway, never mind that. We have more important things to discuss. What sweet treat did you enjoy today? Please tell me you gave yourself something nice to celebrate the first Friday of the week. For my Wensfriesday treat, the Hubble bought a bag of Liquorice Allsorts…yum!!

Tucked up in bed after a very long day, we are snuggled up with the goody bag, picking out our favourite ones. My second favourite day of the week is tomorrow because it is Library day at school. Next week is World Book Day and preparations are in play for a fun-filled day. My dream is to one day have Scat, Miranda, Le Brush and Cecil featuring on the reading list for World Book Day.

Have a lovely Wensfriesday and don’t forget to share your treats. ☺️

Happy #Wensfriesday!

Today is Ash Wednesday and the start of Lent. For many, it will be the start of fasting and giving up something enjoyable for the next forty days. I stopped doing that a long time ago.

Instead, I prefer to try taking up something that will help others, be it volunteering, praying more (for others!), giving away necessary things for others in need or trying to say more positive things to others and avoid gossip. Sacrificing my favourite sweet or meat (namely Biltong!) leaves me craving and unhappy and I tend to forget the whole reason behind the sacrifice. I don’t like that feeling and would rather embrace something that brings me closer to my faith.

Unfortunately this week will not see me eating sweets as it is Ash Wednesday and I will probably be at the hospital with my mum where I refrain from eating or drinking anything (Germs! Germs! Germs!). My little miracle mother is getting better, contrary to the constant message of her impending death from her consultant. Strangely enough I haven’t seen him since her improvement, though I’m sure he will come tell me that he is happy with her recovery and as he told me, it could happen! Won’t be the first time this has happened. If she regresses again, well I will shake his hand and tell him he called it. Can’t do much more than that.

Wishing you all a positive Lent and enough stamina to stay the course if you do decide to give something up.

Love and blessings to you all.

Xxx

Snow, rain, blizzards – oh my!

Time for a snuggle with hot chocolate stuffed with marshmallows and a good book. Unfortunately, that’s not going to happen tonight. I have my niece over and she’s just returned from Oz. Stories are flowing and drama has been unleashed in my cozy living room.

Unfortunately, it leaves me with little time to enjoy the evening with you and share a favourite chocolate.

Enjoy your your evening and half a great mid-week break.

…Okay I have to mention the Ferrero Roché! Slowly nibbling the outer layer, exploring the hardness of the wafer divide before dipping my tongue in the pool of chocolate surrounding the hard nut centre. Anyone want one?

Nightly-bye 😉

It’s #Wensfriesday!!

Happy Wensfriesday everyone! For all the NaNo bloggers out there, hope you’re battling through and making progress on your awesome stories.

This is the last Wensfriesday I will be 39 so let’s make it a good one.

Break out the secret stash of chocolates and help me celebrate the countdown to my birthday!

Have a great day…and the reason is you!

Happy Wensfriesday

Sorry it’s a bit late today but I wanted to get in there and wish you all a happy mid-week break.

For those celebrating Guy Fawkes today, do be careful with those naked flames. We don’t want human flambé to be on the menu!

Enjoy those awesome sweets and treats and have a blast!
