Cherries and pears, fennel and mint; these are a few of my little treasures packed into the borders of my little plot of heaven.
Peeking above Begonia with a French flair, Lavender stands to attention letting us know she is there.
Not to be outdone, Begonia sparkles in the sun, showing off her pink satin petals shimmering in their finery.
All is not lost as the fern guards the back gate. New foundlings unfurl with lazy precision, ready to stretch out and greet the world.
Heavily burdened with the weight of the grapes, my archway is serving out its last year as the support to the vino.
Delicious raspberries dance in the breeze in long stemmed prickly branches.
And finally, sweetening the air, my roses burst with pride as they display colours of pink, peach, yellow and white.
Hope you enjoyed walking through my garden with me.
Loved it. I can’t believe you have grapes in the garden. Will you be making wine with them? Those raspberries look delicious as well. Will some homemade raspberry jam be on the menu or inside one of those wonderful cakes you make?

Thank you. Yes I will be making my second attempt at wine. Last year I made fruity vinegar! The children eat the raspberries faster than I can collect them lol! My daughter makes rose oil and eucalyptus oil from the plants which is pretty nice too. We are on the slow road to self sufficiency!

Sounds great Eloise. Wonderful how the family are using the plants and the fruits up to make other things. When you said you were on the road to self sufficiency, it reminded of that wonderful comedy show “The Good Life”.

What a healthy looking garden. I’d love to see more photos. Once saw a similar fern (second photo) in New Zealand!

Thank you! It’s taken many years to get this fern going as it is so temperamental. Will post more soon. 🙂
